Hannes Van Der Walt was announced Mr South Africa 2020 during a virtual ceremony on Saturday.
De Villier Koster was named first runner up, while the second runner up title went to Lee Jordan Jacobs.
Last year Heinrich Gabler was crowned Mr South Africa 2019 at a glamorous event in Camps Bay, Cape Town but due to Covid-19, the 2020 competition was broadcast online to a global audience.
The closed event was judged by Aretha Bauwens, Saskia Riley and Storm Johnson.
"Mr South Africa is a platform to find the best male ambassador for our country. Somebody that younger generations look up to. A man that inspires," said the organisers, adding: "We don't look for a male model, we are looking for a real-life everyday hero."
Last year, Henrich represented the country at Mr Manhunt 2020 in Manila, but considering the coronavirus pandemic, there are no immediate plans to send a representative to an international competition this year.
"Your new Mister South Africa 2020 is.... Hannes Van Der Walt!" the Mr South Africa official Instagram account wrote on Saturday evening. "Congratulations to our new king Hannes Van Der Walt!"
