South Africa's Jeanè Van Dam will represent the country at Miss Grand International in Thailand on 4 December.

Contestants from around the world will arrive in Thailand this week, where they will take part in several activities, including interviews and preliminary competitions, ahead of the grand finale. (Take a look at the full schedule here)  

Now it its ninth year, according to the organisation's website, "...the new Miss Grand International is chosen according to rules and procedures determined by the Miss Grand International Organisation in its sole discretion."

Aside from the Miss Grand International title, special awards (cash and trophy) will also be awarded during the final show.

  • 4. Best Social Media
  • 5. Miss Popular Vote Award 

20-year-old Jeanè on Monday posted a photo from the airport as she prepares to fly the South African flag high at the international competition. 

"Thank you for all the love and support you guys are showing me. I am so proud to be representing my country on the international stage," she captioned a photo on Instagram.
