Cape Town - Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray from the Philippines crowned her successor, Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi on Sunday.
Zozibini is the third South African to win the Miss Universe crown. The first was Margaret Gardiner in 1978, followed by Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2017.
"Zozi" is also the first Miss Universe to wear the brand-new "Power of Unity" crown which is said to be worth R73 million.
In 2018, Tamaryn Green from Cape Town narrowly missed out on the crown, coming in second place at the pageant held in Thailand.
During the 67th edition of the pageant last year, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters from Cape Town, crowned Catriona Gray from the Philippines - and one year later Catriona Gray returns the favour, crowning 26-year-old Zozibini Tunzi.
