Zozibini Tunzi 'excited for every contestants' journey' as Miss Universe confirms 2021 date and venue

Reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi will crown her successor at the 2021 pageant airing live from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on 16 May at 20:00 ET (17 May at 3:00 SAST).

"My @missuniverse fan side is screaming!! It's always so exciting for me to watch the show and it is finally here," Zozibini shared her excitement with her 2.6 million Instagram followers. 

She added: "I'm so excited for every contestants' journey and I wish them all the best of luck!"

Zozibini, who will hold onto her title for 526 days, now overtakes Leila Lopes of Angola as the Miss Universe titleholder with the longest reign (464 days). 

Natasha Joubert will be this year's South African representative, and the 23-year-old has already caught the attention of many pageant fanatics around the world, who have identified her as a hot pick to take the title
