Cape Town - Miss South Africa 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, welcomed home the Springboks following their win at the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The Springboks returned to a rapturous welcome at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday.

The arrivals area of the airport was awash with green and gold, as the national team touched down in Johannesburg.

Zozibini, whose excitement matched the sounds of vuvuzelas and ululation, welcomed home the triumphant Bokke.

As she prepares to represent South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant, held in December in Atlanta, Zozi said she was inspired by the "astonishing commitment of the team to those of us back here, at home, who were watching their every move with bated breath."

She was motivated by the winning speech given by the captain, Siya Kolisi - they both grew up in rural Eastern Cape.

"He said we could achieve anything if we work together. It's the kind of commitment I want to take with me when I represent South Africa at Miss Universe."
