Thembisa Mdoda 'in good spirits' after Covid-19 hospitalisation

  • TV personality Thembisa Nxumalo (Mdoda) has been hospitalised at Mediclinic Sandton after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
  • In a tweet on on Wednesday, Thembisa said that she was "fighting for dear life on this hospital bed."
  • According to a statement released by the family, Thembisa is being treated with the "utmost care," and is currently in "good spirits."

Thembisa Nxumalo's (Mdoda) family has released a statement after the TV personality on Wednesday tweeted that she is "fighting for dear life on this hospital bed." 

"At my most vulnerable. I actually don't have the strength for anything else. Time to breakaway. Stay safe everyone. Love your loved ones. Love them hard," she tweeted. 

In a statement to the press, Thembisa's family thanked everyone for their calls and messages following the tweet about her health. "She is indeed hospitalised and receiving the best medical care at the Sandton MediClinic, [sic]" the family confirmed. 

"She was diagnosed with long Covid-19 which was further aggravated by an allergy. We are fortunate the doctors diagnosed her in time and are treating her with the utmost care, [sic]" said the statement.

According to the statement, Thembisa is  'in good spirits and well taken care of' and will be released in the next few days. "You will be hearing from Thembisa very soon," it went on to say.
