Cape Town - South African veteran actor David Phetoe has died at the age of 85. The news of his death was announced on Thursday.

Phetoe starred in the SABC soapie Generations when it first premiered in the 1990s and the sitcom 'Sgudi 'Snaysi, alongside Joe Mafela.

On Generations he played the role of the Paul Moroka, father to Karabo (played by Connie Ferguson), Archie, (played by Sello Maake ka Ncube) and Busang (played by Arthur Molepo).
