WATCH: Joseph Shabalala's funeral service

The funeral service of Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder Joseph Shabalala is underway at the Ladysmith Indoor Sports Centre in KZN. 

The musical legend died on 11 February at the age of 78 after suffering from an extended illness. 

In the days after the news broke, President Ramaphosa announced that a special official funeral category 2 would be held in Shabalala's honour. 

The president also ordered flags to be flown at half-mast until the evening of 22 February. 

Shabalala's body will be laid to rest at Ladysmith Cemetery.
