Johannesburg – Auditions for the role of Lebo Mathosa in BET's new series will be taking place in Johannesburg on 31 March and Zodwa Wabantu will be waiting in line just like everyone else.

When thinking about who would be best suited for the role, some Twitter users suggested that maybe Zodwa should give it a try.

Speaking to The Juice, the entertainer confirmed that she would be attending the auditions.

"I'm going to audition just like everybody else."

While naysayers told her that her chances of making it might be slim because she can't sing, Zodwa says that won't stop her from giving it a try.

A fan of Lebo's music herself, she told us she grew up watching the iconic star, and they share a few similarities.

"I grew up watching her and listening to her music. I'm from Soweto, and she's from Soweto. I'm a kasi girl just like her." The entertainer thinks this could be why people have suggested her for the role.

When asked how she has readied herself for the audition, Zodwa said that they had not been asked to prepare any particular material, but she believes " they're just looking for someone dynamic."
