The fierce Lady Lyanna Mormont went out fighting, stabbing a giant wight in the eye, while every bone in her body was being crushed.

After dying many times the Lord of Lightning, Beric Dondarrion finally dies after saving Arya's life.

Theon Greyjoy redeemed all his past actions by sacrificing himself to protect Bran Stark, while Jorah Mormont died defending his queen, Daenerys.

The Red Woman, Melisandre, a controversial figure throughout the series played an integral part in the battle. After guiding Arya Stark on her true path, she removes her enchanted necklace and collapses in a heap of dust outside Winterfell.

One of the most notable deaths in the episode was that of the Night King. Arya delivers the kill shot to the gut – killing him and his army of the dead.

Other deaths in the episode include the Dothraki and several Unsullied Soldiers.

After the epic 82-minute episode HBO released Inside the Throne in which they breakdown how they put together the ground-breaking event.
