The British seaside, with its pebble beaches and amusement arcades, attracts many people during warmer months. But, below the hustle and bustle of those on vacation, there's a darker side that's ruled by killers.

The new 10-part series Coastal Killers on CBS Justice (DStv 170) takes viewers on a journey to the cliff's edge, where the land meets the sea and where life meets death. Season 2 premieres on Sunday, 28 February, at 19:00 and continues weekly, exploring the sinister undercurrents at seemingly idyllic British seaside towns.

Herman Eloff, News24 Lifestyle and Entertainment Editor sat down with Dr Nell Darby, a crime historian and freelance writer. Darby, who has a PhD in the history of crime, gives her expert insights into the latest crime season and reveals more about her job.
