Everyone's talking about Netflix's latest reality show Bling Empire. The eight-episode series follows a wealthy group of Asian and Asian-Americans in Los Angeles.

Listen, these folk are super-rich - from flying a friend to a restaurant in Paris, to closing down Rodeo Drive for a party, to a lavish kids birthday party with a Gucci claw machine (I kid you not).

But beneath the glitz and glamour, there is also some heart as the cast shares their personal stories: from infertility, to adoption, to searching for an estranged parent.

The show has the drama of a rivalry, outrageous moments and yes, a drink throwing scene that is almost a given in any reality show. With the show becoming a hot topic on social media, it's safe to say that the cast has cemented themselves firmly in pop culture history.

The show's creators attribute the magic of the show solely to the cast. In an interview with Oprah Magazine, showrunner Brandon Panaligan shared that they tapped into the group's energy.

"We tapped into the energy of a group who already know each other and are invested in each other's lives. That's the magic in starting a show like this - it's not forced. We brought our cameras into a world that was already there."

Here's a cheat sheet on who's who in Bling Empire.

1. Kevin Kreider

Kevin is our guide and narrator as we foray inside the world of the rich. He is a model, a fitness and nutrition coach and owns his own production company.

The 37-year-old was adopted from Korea and was raised by a white family in Pennsylvania. Kevin is basically all of us in awe of how the rich party, shop and do just about everything.

In an interview with Oprah Magazine, creator Jeff Jenkins revealed that Kevin was introduced to the group by Kelly Mi Li a year before filming the show.

"That year gave Kevin this wonderful sandbox time of playing and getting to know everybody and getting to form his own opinions, his own attitudes, and his friendships or rivalries".

Kevin has denied rumours that his net worth is $10 million (R151 million). Speaking to E! News he said: "I think I'm probably the last person to know I was worth that much. Secondly, it seems more like a future prediction instead of a current prediction."

2. Anna Shay

Before starring in the show, Anna was notoriously private. The heiress is from Japanese and Russian descent and is the daughter of billionaire Edward Shay, the founder of Pacific Architects and Engineers, a government arms contractor.

According to Newsweek, her net worth is $600 million (R9 billion). In 2006, Anna and her brother Allen sold his father's business for $1.2 billion (R18 billion). Anna has a son, Kenny Kemp who makes an appearance on the show. According to a Buzzfeed article Kenny has a bong collection worth millions.

3. Christine Chiu and Doctor Gabriel Chiu

The couple founded and run Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles. In the first episode, Christine, a Taiwanese heiress, revealed that her husband is a direct descendant from the Song Dynasty.

According to Express UK, the couple's combined net worth is $80 million (R1.2 billion). The Chius are philanthropists and have worked with Prince Charles to create The Prince's Foundation Chiu Health and Wellness Programmes and Center.

Christine is known as a couture collector; her son Baby G is kitted out in top designer brands.

4. Kane Lim

The 31-year-old hails from Singapore and comes from an affluent family who deals in the real estate, shipping, oil and tankers industries. According to ScreenRant, Kane has his own company, K-ix Capital, his family's US investment arm.

In an interview with Vogue LA, Kane shared that he started investing when he was 17 with a small loan from his father.

Popbuzz reports that Kane's net worth is around $20 million (R302 million). He is also a fashion influencer and has a wall of designer shoes that costs over $300 000 (R4.5 million), reports Yahoo News.

5. Kelly Mi Li

Kelly is an entrepreneur and influencer. In her 20s, she was married to a rich man from China. In 2015 he was arrested for being part of a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme and is now serving a 10-year prison sentence.

Since then she has been supporting herself and has produced television shows and movies. According to The Fab, her net worth is $5 million (R76 million).

Kelly is dating Andrew Gray, who played the Red Power Ranger in Power Rangers Megaforce.
