The Crown isn't the only royal programme that bagged nominations for the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey has been nominated in the Outstanding Hosted Non-Fiction Series Or Special category.

Other nominees in the category are: My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell and Vice.

The interview, Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special, aired in the US on 7 March and in South Africa on 8 March.

In the bombshell interview, the couple discussed everything from racism within the royal family to Charles and William cutting them off after their exit from the firm.

In South Africa, the two-hour special drew in 176 104 viewers when it aired.
