A Joan Rivers limited series starring Kathryn Hahn has been cancelled.

Last month it was announced that the Wandavision actor would play the comedian in The Comeback Girl, written and produced by Cosmo Carlson (Valedictorian) and directed by Greg Berlanti.

According to the official logline, via TV Line, the show "is the awe-inspiring untold story of how Joan Rivers persevered through near suicide and professional abyss to rebuild herself and her career to become a global icon."

Variety now reports that the show will no longer be moving forward as the producers did not have Joan's life rights owned by her daughter, Melissa Rivers.

"The project could have proceeded as an unauthorised venture, but The Comeback Girl wouldn't have been able to use any of Rivers' jokes or catchphrases, and, of course, risked running afoul of Melissa Rivers and the estate," reports the publication.
