Loyiso Gola is making Netflix history as the first African comedian to have a full solo hour stand-up comedy on Netflix.

Loyiso Gola: Unlearning will debut globally on the streaming service on 23 March.

In the comedy hour, Loyiso will explore his own experience of maturity and masculinity during apartheid in South Africa.

The special first debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and ran at the MICF, London's Soho Theatre, Grahamstown, and Soho Playhouse in New York. Loyiso then brought it to his hometown, Cape Town, where it was filmed in front of a live audience at the Zeitz Mocaa, following strict Covid-19 protocols.
