  • The Real Housewives of Durban are returning for a third season.
  • It is unclear if all of the cast members from the previous season will return.
  • The sixth African adaptation, the Real Housewives of Nairobi, also makes its debut in 2023.

Tongue-wagging Showmax reality show Real Housewives of Durban will return to the streaming platform for a third season.

It is unclear when the season will premiere and if all the cast members from the show's second season will return.

Season 2 of the popular  reality show wrapped up in May with the second and final reunion, which Donovan Goliath hosted.

During the reunion, cast members Londiwe 'Londie London' Zulu and Annie Mthembu finally apologised to The Queen, cast member Nonku Williams' mother, for interpreting something she said and her hand gestures incorrectly. In the first part of the reunion, Zulu revealed she was expecting her second child.

In the press statement, Showmax also announced the first season of the Real Housewives of Nairobi.

The Showmax original debuts in 2023. It is the 22nd international version of the Real Housewives format and the sixth to be adapted in Africa.

"There's quite a bit of pressure from the audience to deliver a stellar show, but if what we've seen in the casting process is anything to go by, Nairobi promises to hold its own," D&R Studios  Eugene Mbugua said in the statement. D&R is the production company behind the show.

"Fans can expect surprises in everything, from the choice of the cast to the storylines."
