INTERVIEW: Pat van Heerden, SABC3 channel head

SABC3 channel head Pat van Heerden says "we're building" and she's adamant that the SABC's only commercial TV channel is forging a new path towards stability and sustainability.

The TV executive took up the massive task of agreeing to turn the channel around after it was neglected and mismanaged for more than a decade. Slowly rebuilding its inner workings, cog by cog, to try to lure back viewers, restore programming quality and schedule flow, get back advertisers and fix production companies' distrust after a slew of shocking local content cancellations that decimated its once sterling schedule.
