Sister Sister, Girlfriends, and Moesha coming to Netflix SA

Three classic sitcoms are finally coming to Netflix South Africa.

On Thursday the official Instagram announced that Sister Sister, Girlfriends and Moesha will become available on the streaming service between 6 and 20 November.

Sister Sister starring Tia and Tamera Mowry drops Friday 6 November, followed by Girlfriends starring Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White and Jill Marie Jones on 13 November. Last to hit the platform will be Moesha with Brandy on 20 November.


These sitcoms were part of a big acquisition for Netflix US in July. The Black Lead official Twitter account shared a video with some of the stars of the shows who spoke about the cultural importance of them.

"These shows changed the face of television as we know it, and it helps for Black creators, both in front and behind the camera. It has allowed us to be in the homes of people worldwide.

"It's going to give an opportunity for a whole new generation whole new generation that’s going to be watching on Netflix. So thanks to everyone who ever made a social media post or left a message asking about these shows. It didn’t go unnoticed."
