The Crown is looking for their Prince William.

According to an advertisement on the Casting Talent website, the Netflix show is searching for an 'exceptional young actor' between 18 and 35 to play Prince William in the next season.

"This is a significant role in this award-winning drama, and we are looking for a strong physical resemblance," reads the ad.

No previous acting is required, and filming is set to begin in early September 2022.

Dominic West's - who will play Prince Charles in the fifth season - son, Senan West, will play a younger version of Prince William. The 13-year-old's audition caught the attention of the show's producer. He will make his appearance in the final episodes of the upcoming season.

While details of the penultimate series remains under wraps, it will reportedly follow the royal family in the early 1990s and 2000s. In keeping with the timeline, the demise of the couple's marriage and Diana's tragic death in 1997 will feature in the upcoming seasons.

Season 5 premieres on Netflix in November 2022.
