Fans of the popular Showmax series The Wife were left shocked following reports four of the lead actors were allegedly leaving the show in its highly anticipated third season.
The news caused a social media uproar jolting the release of a statement by the production company Stained Glass TV.
The telenovela is inspired by Dudu Busani-Dube's bestselling book series, with season 1 based on the novel Hlomu the Wife and season 2, which aired earlier this year, on Zandile The Resolute.
"We are currently in the preproduction phase that includes the contracting process for all cast and crew. All our principal actors have been confirmed to be part of The Wife for season 3. Stained Glass, the cast and crew can't wait to bring viewers a formidable third season," said Nomfundo Zondi in a statement.

Season three of The Wife, which is based on the novel Naledi, His Love and stars Gaisang K Noge in the leading role, will return to South African screens in November.
"Management has just advised that we cannot confirm anything as contracts are still being drawn," said Thabile Mokone, public relations coordinator at Stained Glass TV.
