Three top producers at The Ellen DeGeneres Show have been let go following allegations of a toxic work environment, misconduct and sexual harassment.

According to Variety, executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman, and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman have been fired after a recent report by Buzzfeed News.

Earlier this month, the publication interviewed former employees who alleged incidents of "harassment, sexual misconduct, and assault from top producers".

The report was published while Warner Media launched an internal investigation into toxic work environment allegations.

At the time the company said in a statement that they interviewed current and former staff members and that their primary findings have shown some deficiencies related to the show's day-to-day management.

Kevin and Jonathan both denied the allegations while Ed did not respond to the publication's request for comment.

Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner and Derek Westervelt, who have all been with the show since 2003, will be staying on as executive producers with resident DJ Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who was promoted to co-executive producer.

On Monday, the first full day of production since the coronavirus shutdown, Ellen addressed staff during a Zoom meeting, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Ellen reportedly apologised to staff and said that she was not perfect, but that she tries to be the best person she can be and tries to learn from her mistakes.

During the meeting producers, Andy and Mary also addressed the results of the internal investigation which found that there was no evidence of 'systemic' racism on the show but that more needs to be done in terms of diversity and inclusion.

The internal investigation was launched after former, and current employees, spoke to Buzzfeed about their fear, intimidation and the racial encounters they have experienced on the set of the talk show.
