Netflix's first unscripted African reality series Young, Famous & African, premiered on Friday, with seven sizzling episodes following the continent's biggest and baddest personalities. 

Young, Famous & African features stars from South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda as they manoeuvre tempestuous love lives, feuds and demanding careers in the city of bling, Johannesburg. 

Not short of the soft life and "shots fired", the show gives fans a ringside view of African celebrity at its most dramatic, charismatic and extravagant.

This all-African reality series includes power-couple 2Baba and Annie Macaulay-Idibia, celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry, actor Khanyi Mbau, musician Diamond Platnumz, rapper Nadia Nakai, businesswoman Zari 'The Bosslady' Hassan, broadcaster and TV producer Andile Ncube, and radio jockey Naked DJ.

Khanyi Mbau

Leading the cast is TV personality Khanyi Mbau. The Queen of Bling is well-known for her acting career and for making headlines with her personal life. 

Diamond Platnumz

Diamond is one of Tanzania's biggest stars. He is the first sub-Saharan African artist to earn over 1 billion YouTube views and has received three BET Award nominations. 

Annie Macaulay-Idibia

Annie is a Nigerian model, actress and presenter who is married to musician 2Baba.

2Baba was the first winner of MTV Europe's Best African Act Award in 2015. And in 2009, Annie was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Best of Nollywood Awards.

Nadia Nakai

Nadia Nakai was recently nominated for Artist of the Decade at the 2021 South African Hip Hop Awards.

Swanky Jerry

Nigerian Celebrity fashion stylist Swanky Jarry rose to fame after launching his brand Swanky Signatures Styling. In 2014, he was named Fashion Stylist of the Year at the Lagos Fashion Awards, and in 2020 he made Forbes Africa's 30 under 30 list.

Zari, The Boss Lady

Ugandan businesswoman and musician Zarinah Hassan is the heir and CEO of Brooklyn City College, which she co-founded with her late husband Ivan Semwanga.

She shares two children with co-star Diamond Platnumz.

Naked DJ

Naked DJ is a South African radio personality and club DJ, who previously appeared in the Real Housewives of Johannesburg with his then-wife Naledi Willers.

The DJ is now dating footballer Kayleigh Schwark, who also appears on the show. 

Andile Ncube

Andile Ncube has hosted several TV shows, including The X Factor South Africa and The Search: E! Host South Africa.
