"Only Oscar will know. Only he will know," director Daniel Gordon tells me in a video call from the United Kingdom one afternoon, shortly before the premiere of his latest documentary on South African TV. 

"The aim for me was not about knowing, because we'll never know. The one thing I tried from the very beginning was to make sure that Reeva's voice was heard. In the hysteria of everything, she was objectified, sensationalised and was anonymous at the same time. It felt to me like no one really cared to tell that story more objectively."
