This week should have brought one of those moments. Friday marked the 30th anniversary of the Boipatong massacre, one of the most vicious acts of terror carried out by the apartheid government and its surrogates on the eve of democracy. Forty-five people died that night when blood-thirsty men from Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s IFP rampaged through the township, killing, maiming and disembowelling every human in sight.
