Ban advertising and increase price of alcohol to curb the abuse, experts say

Banning the advertising of alcohol, increasing its price and reducing the legal limit for drinking and driving could curb the abuse of alcohol in South Africa.

These are some of the measures put forward by the SA Medical Research Council (SAMRC), UCT School of Public Health, the Western Cape Liquor Authority and the DG Murray Trust in their appeal to government.
