Chief Justice Mogoeng dismisses Hlophe’s claim against Goliath, recommends misconduct tribunal

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has recommended that a tribunal be established to investigate gross misconduct claims against Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe.

In a statement on Friday, Mogoeng ruled that Hlophe had a case to answer, particularly with regards to his alleged assault of Judge Mushtak Parker and that if the allegation was true, it would likely lead to a finding of gross misconduct, followed by impeachment.
