The closure of university campuses across the country due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus has had a major impact on students who live in rural areas with no laptops or access to the internet.

Avhasei Nevumbani, a fourth-year geology student at the University of Venda, lives in Khubvi village, just outside Thohoyandou, Limpopo. He said that, even though the lockdown had delayed his plan to make his dream of becoming a businessperson come true, it had taught him to re-evaluate his priorities.
