Covid-19: NHLS reducing its dependence on ‘a few suppliers’

In a move that may boost South Africa’s Covid-19 coronavirus testing capacity, the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) says it is taking steps to reduce its reliance on “a few” suppliers of Covid-19 testing materials.

In recent weeks, private sector testing numbers have consistently been higher than those reported by the NHLS – which does testing for the public sector.
