The number of Covid-19 Coronavirus cases in South Africa will pass the 50 000 mark this week, and the country will also record its 1000th death from the virus.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is worried. But he believes that the country is prepared to deal with the pandemic.

In his weekly newsletter to the country, he noted that more than a half of all cases since the start of the outbreak were recorded in the last two weeks.
