Financial insecurity a bigger concern for SA consumers than being infected with Covid-19

As time moved on during the Covid-19 pandemic, most people feared being infected and dying less than the financial insecurity this period has brought.

When asked about which words or phrases came to mind about the coronavirus, during a survey by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Center for Customer Insight, the respondents frequently said: “death toll”, “loss of jobs”, “business closures”, “hunger”, “economic recession”, “increased poverty” and “increased insecurity.”
