‘I am their target’ – Mogoeng on his Israel/Palestine remarks

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has accused human rights organisation Africa4Palestine of unfairly targeting him with harsh criticism for statements he made during a webinar hosted by The Jerusalem Post newspaper.

Mogoeng’s response, presented in a 19-page affidavit, cited other judges who have made remarks regarding a peaceful resolution of the Israel/Palestine problem in a mutually beneficial way, but the human rights organisation had not lodged a complaint against any of his colleagues.

As a result, Mogoeng has concluded that: “I am their target.”
