A company at the centre of a skirmish between Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu and a Limpopo water board chief has denied invoicing or being paid for testing its innovation to source water from dry rivers, but a trail of documents proves otherwise.

Sisulu has been under fire for usurping the powers of the Lepelle Northern Water Board in order to rush the appointment of Empowering Water Solutions (EWS), which has a solution to provide water in 187 drought-stricken Limpopo villages by drawing water from dry rivers.

Sisulu, according to documents City Press has seen, allegedly sidelined the board last year and used her powers to appoint EWS to experiment with its technology when she experienced delays from the board.
