NEWS

An Eastern Cape farmer has been financially ruined after being evicted from the farm that he was granted the right to use in 2012 as a beneficiary of government’s land reform programme.

The story of Vuyani Zigana, who farmed for years on the Groove Park farm between Kokstad and Matatiele, bears similarities to that of farmer David Rakgase (78), of the Nooitgedacht farm in Limpopo, who lost thousands of rands in court battles to force the state to sell him the land he had farmed for 27 years.
