Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has defended her decision to appoint the controversial former SA Revenue Services (SARS) group executive for employees relations Luther Lebelo.

Lebelo was appointed as the chief of staff in the office of the Public Protector in December last year.
