A couple who was arrested last week for allegedly defrauding their newly bought multimillion-rand lodge in Mpumalanga have downplayed the criminal charges as a sustained racist and malicious campaign to kick them out of the business.

Sikhumbuzo Tshabalala, 41 and his wife Ntombizodwa, 32, bought a 67.7% stake in eBundu Lodge – situated between Mbombela and White River – for R32 million in 2017.
