A few months ago, we wrote about the challenges faced by self-employed and freelance workers when it comes to accessing insurance, especially occupation-based cover such as income protection.

Nearly 4 million South Africans work as independent contractors, with temporary employment rising from 2.6 million in 2017 to 3.9 million in 2018, according to Stats SA’s employment outlook.
