Former Bafana Bafana star Steven Pienaar has raised his hand to coach at senior level now that he has acquired his Uefa Pro Licence.

The 40-year-old spent three years coaching at youth level, including a spell at the academy of Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam, the club that gave him his break in European football in 2001.

Pienaar believes it’s now the right time for him to take up the challenge in the senior professional ranks.
