The postponement of the ANC provincial conference in North West has not only given lobby groups and contenders for the chairperson’s position more time to intensify their campaigns, but has also given more than 102 branches which failed to hold their biennial branch general meetings and branch meetings a chance to rectify their problems in preparation for the conference.
City Press has learnt that more than 102 branches were excluded from the conference due to unresolved branch disputes. As a result, the interim provincial committee (IPC) postponed the conference, which was scheduled to start on June 23.
