The City of Johannesburg’s ANC-led administration has been accused of purging heads of various utilities and entities appointed by the former DA-led council under Herman Mashaba.

The accusations gained momentum after the chief executive of the Johannesburg Property Company (JPC) Helen Botes and the company’s chief financial officer (CFO), Imraan Bhamjee, were informed that their employment contracts with the city were invalid and illegal.
