Tshwane Economic Development Agency (Teda) board member Thokozani Thwala’s murky historical relations with the municipal entity raised questions of conflict of interest, real or perceived. He has now decided to step aside to allow the agency to investigate the allegations.

Thwala protested that he was innocent, telling City Press that he had not done any business with Teda, an entity tasked to accelerate the city’s economic development:
