When Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre told Youssoufa Moukoko that he should warm up last weekend, fans watching the game on TV knew straight away that history was in the making.

The striker had celebrated his 16th birthday the day before his club’s away match at Hertha BSC Berlin. And when he replaced Norwegian Erling Haaland, who himself is only 20, Moukoko became the youngest player to feature in the Bundesliga.
