The Bulls have intervened to help transfer target Sintu Manjezi extricate himself from a potentially lengthy battle with the Cheetahs over his contract.

As reported in City Press a few weeks ago, in attempting to leave the Pro14 franchise for its Super Rugby counterpart for game time in the southern hemisphere competition and ultimately Springbok selection, the lock forward had a difference of opinion with his Bloemfontein employers on the status of his contract.

While Manjezi and his representation insisted that his contract was set to end on October 31, the Cheetahs maintained that – through his agent – the 25-year-old had agreed and accepted a two-year extension, a deal for which the franchise had begun to pay him his signing-on fee in monthly instalments.
