Of the many discrepancies that Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa’s interim board for Cricket SA (CSA) attempts to address, the most important is finding a voice for the players in an organisation that appears to have forgotten the main reason it was started.

The inclusion of SA Cricketers’ Association (Saca) president Omphile Ramela – who has had to relinquish his position in the association to be in the board – will hopefully see to it that the most important people in the game don’t rely on second-hand information over their collective futures.
