PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza confirmed the resumption of the Absa Premiership and GladAfrica Championship (the reserve league – Multichoice Diski Challenge – is therefore cancelled). He held a press conference to make the announcement on Monday afternoon following an extraordinary board of governors meeting

The PSL wanted to resume the season on July 18 but the unavailability of referees, who fall under Safa, derailed its plans. Safa indicated that match officials would be available from August 1.
