After obliterating a 25-year-old national women’s marathon record in Italy last Sunday, Steyn tells Simnikiwe Xabanisa she’s going to prepare for the upcoming Tokyo Games race in Japan as if it’s her last Olympics.

Dubai-based South African distance runner Gerda Steyn continued her record run when she set a new national women’s marathon time of two hours, 25 minutes and 28 seconds while finishing ninth overall in Siena, Italy, last week.
