It’s quite ironic that Cape Town City, of all teams, gave neighbours Stellenbosch FC a rude welcome to the Absa Premiership.

The Citizens’ 1-0 win over their provincial rivals just two matches into the campaign was followed by a long run of winless streaks for both sides. City went seven games without a victory, while Stellies only registered their maiden triumph after eight games.
