The awards judging panel praised coach Truter for showcasing an exciting brand of football with Swallows as well as creating unity by combining a group of talented youngsters with experienced players at his disposal, including an incredible fightback in some of their tougher fixtures.
Between December 5 and January 10, Swallows won three games and drew twice.
Meanwhile, Gamildien was chosen as the best player for his consistency in attack. His five goals, including a brace each in victories over Maritzburg United and Cape Town City, have been key in keeping Swallows on second position on the log standings.
Truter and Gamildien edged Mamelodi Sundowns’ Manqoba Mnqgithi, and SuperSport United’s Kaitano Tembo and Bradley Grobler. They were also hugely praised for the outstanding job during the judging period.
For their recognition, Truter and Gamildien each received a miniature trophy and R7 000 cash from the league sponsor, DStv.
