The last time the Reds were crowned champions of England was in 1990, becoming the second-last club to win the old First Division championship in England. Although they have won a number of cups since then, including the Champions League twice, the Holy Grail of English domestic football – the Premier League title – has eluded them.

But all of that should change next month after the Premier League decided on Thursday that the competition, which was suspended in March because of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, would resume next month. The league said that training, which allowed contact between players, would start immediately.
