While the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) sits with undocumented works worth at least R165 million from the previous financial year, artists are crying foul over nonpayment of royalties.

Undocumented or orphaned work is copyrighted work that the relevant arts organisation has not been able to successfully match with the rightful owner(s) for it to be able to distribute royalties.
