Trenery has again partnered with an amazing local brand that you’re probably familiar with, called Suki Suki.

Together the two are creating luxury facial products that have been launched under the Trenery Guild, a collaborative project in which it partners some of South Africa’s leading artists and artisans.

Suki Suki, launched in 2010 by Linda Gieskes-Mwamba, is dedicated to producing the finest skincare products with all natural ingredients.

“It’s unique because it’s a modern African brand combining underused traditional ingredients with scientifically researched formulas,” says Gieskes-Mwamba.

“We believe natural products are great, but naturally potent products are even better. Mother Nature has extraordinary ingredients and we celebrate them by using various elements predominantly from the African continent.”

‘I definitely see my brand in the global beauty market, in major beauty retailers. Suki Suki has its place in the world' says Gieskes-Mwamba

Gieskes-Mwamba says being recognised by a brand as established as Trenery and to have it align with her means that the two have mutual values in their individual branding and manufacturing process.

“Before creating a product we have to identify a need. I started creating my products when I identified a need in my own beauty routine, so I had to make them just for myself. Creating and designing from a needs perspective is first on the list.”

When asked what she wants someone who tries her products to feel: “I want to create an experience around the entire product from the packaging, to the ingredients, to the smell, to the texture and finally the application. The whole experience needs to be a beautiful sensory experience that feels great. The thing that a customer must cherish the most is definitely the application because although the packaging is beautiful, the most important thing in a product is its content and then the way it interacts with you. To me, luxury lies in the quality of the ingredients.”

For the collaboration, Suki Suki created a bespoke Trenery Trio consisting of a Camomile Soothing Facial Mist, a Blue Yarrow Calming Facial Oil and a Kalahari Melon lip treatment. The trio, which comes packaged in a natural linen bag, will be given to qualifying customers.
